The Olsson family is tired of city life and longs for a traditional Christmas in the country. They find an ad in the newspaper for a "big house in the country" and decide to rent it. Through a misunderstanding, they end up in a castle, Greveholm. Once they move in, the children soon realize that the castle is not like any other house – it is haunted.
